Another 160 Ukrainian soldiers have been released from captivity.

Ukraine and Russia carried out the third phase of the “1,000 for 1,000” prisoner exchange. As part of the exchange, 160 Ukrainians were successfully repatriated from Russia.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the Telegram channel of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Results of the 76th prisoner exchange

“We continue to bring Ukrainians home from Russian captivity. Today, 160 servicemen were released from captivity. All of them had been in captivity since 2022,” the president said.

According to him, those released include servicemen from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the State Special Transport Service, the National Guard, and border guards.

These are the soldiers who defended Mariupol, “Azovstal,” and the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Chernihiv, and Sumy regions.

“We remember everyone who is in captivity. We are checking every single name. Everyone must be returned—both military personnel and civilians,” added the President of Ukraine.

The previous second exchange, in the “1,000 for 1,000” format, took place on June 5. At that time, 185 military personnel and one civilian were successfully rescued from enemy captivity.

Prior to that, an exchange took place on May 15. On that occasion, more than 200 Ukrainians returned home. Most of them had been held captive since 2022.
