Traffic was stopped at the Krichev-Surazh section.
Since May 30, 2026 the Belarusian Railway has stopped sending freight trains through the junction point Belynkovichi (BZhD)-Surazh (RZD) in the direction of the Russian station Unecha. This is reported by "Community of Railwaymen of Belarus".
The official reason was damage to the railway infrastructure near the station Unecha, Bryansk region, as a result of a drone strike on May 21, 2026.
Cargo trains from the Krichevsky direction of BZhD were redirected to the bypass - through Orsha and further through the Osinovka-Krasnoye MGSP.
Before the drone attack, no more than 2-3 freight trains per day passed through the junction Belynkovichi-Surazh. The second junction in the direction of Unechi-Zakopytie (BZhD)-Zlynka (RZhD) was not closed for traffic.
The sustainability of Belarusian freight transportation increasingly depends not only on the state of its own railway network, but also on the security of Russian border hubs.
Unconfirmed data of the publication, the resumption of the Belynkovichi-Surazh MGSP is planned for June 5-6, 2026, but in a limited mode - with the passage of no more than one freight train per day.
Unecha is a major railroad junction on the Russian side, through which a number of trains related to the work of BZhD pass.
Rerouting trains through Orsha creates an additional load on the direction, which, according to the community, is already the busiest at the moment.
