On the night of July 13, a Russian “Geran-2” strike drone crashed and exploded near the village of Kopanka in Moldova’s Kaushany District. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.

This was reported by NewsMaker citing a statement from law enforcement.

Police noted that at approximately 1:03 a.m., a report was received via the 112 emergency service that people had discovered a small aircraft resembling a drone on the outskirts of the village of Kopanka in the Kaushansky District. After it crashed, it exploded, causing a fire.

“Police officers and firefighters arrived at the scene. According to preliminary information, no one was injured as a result of the incident. The area has been cordoned off, and law enforcement is conducting an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident,” police said.

Moldova’s Ministry of Defense stated that a Russian “Geran-2” drone had crashed on Moldovan territory after crossing into Moldovan airspace during an airstrike on the Odesa region.
