A series of explosions rang out.

On the morning of Tuesday, July 14, drones attacked the "Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat" in the city of Salavat, Republic of Bashkortostan.

This was reported by the BBC Russian Service.

According to local residents, a series of explosions rocked the area around the plant, after which a fire broke out at the site.

As the agency notes, the “Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat” plant is located approximately 1,400 km from the section of the border with Russia controlled by Ukraine.

“Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat” is one of Russia’s largest petrochemical complexes. According to the Russian publication The Moscow Times, in 2024 the plant processed 7.2 million metric tons of crude oil—about 2.7% of Russia’s total crude oil processing volume.
