Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has named the head of Naftogaz, Serhiy Koretskyi, as the most qualified candidate for the country’s prime minister amid the approaching winter. The Ukrainian leader’s remarks were reported by the TSN television channel.

“After all the consultations, Serhiy Koretsky is undoubtedly the most qualified person for the position of Prime Minister of Ukraine,” — Zelenskyy said.

On July 12, Zelenskyy announced the resignation of Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko and a cabinet reshuffle. According to him, the country now faces “new challenges and tasks” that require a change in “political strategy.”
