Belarus Warned Poland Of A Planned Terrorist Attack

The main target of the terrorist attack is allegedly the minor children of an activist living in Poland.

At a meeting at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Poland’s Chargé d’Affaires Krzysztof Ożanna was informed about plans for a terrorist attack on Polish territory. This was reported by the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“A person currently in Poland—who was convicted in the Republic of Belarus under a number of articles of the Criminal Code and who was recently stripped by the Polish authorities of additional protection and the right to reside in the country—is preparing a terrorist attack,” the statement reads.

According to the Foreign Ministry, the main targets of the attack are the minor children of an activist residing in Poland who holds Belarusian citizenship. The Foreign Ministry linked the motives behind the planned attack to revenge against the woman, who had made “insufficient efforts to preserve the aforementioned person’s status in Poland.”

According to the Belarusian side, the information was received by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the republic’s law enforcement agencies and was shared as part of cooperation agreements on combating crime.

The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also noted its readiness to provide additional information on this matter through the channels of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries as it becomes available.
