In Erfurt, Germany—located in the federal state of Thuringia—thousands of people took to the streets to protest and blocked access roads to the venue of the party conference of the far-right “Alternative for Germany” (AfD).
This was reported by "European Truth".

On Saturday, protesters from labor unions, civil society groups, and left-wing parties gathered in downtown Erfurt, blocking access to the venue of the AfD conference.
Under police supervision, the protesters sat in rows, blocking highways and roads leading to the conference center where the party meeting was to take place.

According to Reuters, citing estimates from law enforcement, about 15,000 people joined the demonstrations in Erfurt and the surrounding area.
The party conference is set to re-elect the co-chairs of the far-right party—Alisa Weidel and Tino Chrupalla. This comes ahead of key elections for the party in the eastern states of Saxony-Anhalt and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which the “Alternative for Germany” party hopes will help the far right pave the way for success at the national level.
Earlier, German police reported that about 50,000 demonstrators could turn out for protests against the AfD party convention.
