Klaus Schwab filed a report with the Geneva police.
Klaus Schwab, founder of the World Economic Forum (WEF), filed a report with the Geneva police requesting the opening of a criminal investigation, stating that he had discovered a listening device in his home office. According to Bloomberg, the device was found in Schwab’s private residence in Geneva, which is located near the WEF headquarters. The 88-year-old Klaus Schwab filed the complaint against persons unknown. An initial investigation revealed that the device was most likely installed within the last three years.
Klaus Schwab, who founded the WEF and led it for more than 50 years, stepped down last April, citing his advanced age and a desire to retire. Shortly thereafter, it became known that an internal investigation had been launched after the WEF leadership received an anonymous letter. The letter alleged that the Schwab family had used company funds for personal purposes, including spending them on luxury vacations.
Schwab denied these allegations. Last August, the WEF Board of Trustees reported that the internal investigation had not uncovered any significant misconduct on the part of Klaus Schwab. According to the organization, its founder and former head had only misused a minor amount of the forum’s funds.
