A controversial video.
Russian State Duma Deputy Alexey Zhuravlev snapped at the interviewer and walked out of the interview after being asked why he was staying in Moscow while calling on citizens to participate in the war against Ukraine. A clip from the recording, in which the deputy loses his temper and yells, was posted on Telegram by lawyer Ivan Mironov (who was recording the interview).
Mironov, in particular, asked why deputies and their children were not fighting in the war against Ukraine. Zhuravlev replied that some deputies had been on the front lines. To which Mironov said that not a single deputy had been killed, and asked why that was the case. Zhuravlev considered this a “very strange question.” Later, Mironov asked why Zhuravlev, while urging people to join the war against Ukraine, was staying in Moscow himself. “Do you need a [war veteran] medal? Shove that medal up your ass!” Zhuravlev shouted.
“All lawmakers are prohibited from participating there”

He boasted that he had been in the occupied Donbas for the “inauguration” of the former leader of the “DPR” Alexander Zakharchenko (without explaining how this relates to the hostilities), then claimed that lawmakers are allegedly prohibited from participating in the war. “What the f*ck do I need you for, sitting here recording interviews with you? Go f*ck yourself!” he shouted and walked away.
