How China Could Acquire a Major Russian Oil Asset.
Bashkortostan has lost “Bashneft” because of the war: the republic’s main asset is being handed over to “Rosneft” (and eventually to China) so that the Bashkirs can continue to die for the “Russian World.” The crime being committed right before our eyes by Moscow’s “overseer” Khabirov against his own people will ensure he meets the same fate as Ceaușescu and will pose a threat to regional security due to a future conflict with China.
According to the head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, the region will sell its stake in “Bashneft,” leaving it without its own oil production and refining capacity due to a massive budget deficit caused by the war in Ukraine. The buyer will be Rosneft, to which a portion of the shares had already been sold at the end of June. Both the previous and the new deals were justified by the high cost of borrowing to cover the budget deficit, which makes the sale of assets “a more attractive option.”
At that time, Rosneft acquired an additional 6.35% of Bashneft’s shares. The transaction totaled 14.8 billion rubles, and the funds were transferred to the regional budget in a single payment. Prior to the sale, Bashkortostan held a controlling stake of 25% plus one share; the republic owned 44.4 million shares of Bashneft: 38.1 million common shares and 6.3 million preferred shares. Now the republic will be left with nothing. The Kremlin forced the Bashkirs to pay for the Russian “feast” in Ukraine out of their own pockets, and when they no longer had enough to live on — the Kremlin bought all their property for a song so that, with the proceeds, the Bashkirs could continue to foot the bill for the “Russian feast” for a little while longer.
But the most frightening part of this story is the transfer of assets to China. This is being discussed in the market as the most likely scenario. Sechin will “wrap up” the Bashkir oil industry and present it to his true master—Xi. When the Bashkirs want to reclaim their property, they’ll have to sue not Moscow, but Beijing.
If the Bashkirs do not rise up after hearing this news and take their fate into their own hands, they will be cursed by their children and grandchildren.
