The joint production is already in its final stages.
Finland is close to signing an agreement on the joint production of drones with Ukraine, where the vast majority of the weapons produced will be used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
This was stated Finnish President Alexander Stubb during the Ukraine-Nordic-Baltic Eight summit in Kyiv.
Finnish and Ukrainian companies are already reaching practical agreements on launching joint production facilities.
Production is expected to be based on a decentralized cooperation model similar to the Danish one.
“I’m looking forward to the results, but it seems one of the companies has already cited a figure for the number of drones that can be produced in Finland, and I think the agreement will follow a so-called 90/10 ratio. So 90% of the production will go to Ukraine, and 10% will remain in Finland,” noted Alexander Stubb.
The President of Finland emphasized that the agreements are in the final stages and only a few minor changes remain to be made.
According to him, the partnership will be mutually beneficial for both countries.
Stubb emphasized that European and American partners need to change their perception of military and technological support for Kyiv.
“I think that many Europeans—and, in fact, Americans—need to get rid of the notion that we’re doing some kind of charity work for Ukraine. Perhaps that was the case at first. But now we can learn more from Ukraine than Ukraine learns from us,” the Finnish leader concluded.
