A military transport U.S. Air Force Boeing C-17 Globemaster III aircraft, with tail number RCH4555, took off from Vnukovo Airport, according to FlightRadar24 data.
It is headed to Riga.
CBS and Axios, citing sources, previously reported that CIA Director John Ratcliffe had arrived in Russia. CBS reporter Jennifer Jacobs clarified that Ratcliffe traveled to Russia aboard a C-17 military transport aircraft.
Sources described the purpose of the visit as “meetings in Moscow”. The CIA director last visited Russia nearly five years ago—in November 2021.
