It will affect workers in one of the industries.
The Belarusian Ministry of Labor has approved a new resolution amending the conditions for preferential pension benefits for workers in the textile industry.
The ministry has established an updated list of textile industries and occupations in which employment entitles workers to retire five years earlier than the generally established retirement age.
As a reminder, the current retirement age in Belarus is 58 for women and 63 for men. Thus, workers included in the new list will be eligible to retire at ages 53 and 58, respectively.
The new decree repeals a previous document from the Ministry of Labor, under which textile workers operating looms and machinery could retire as early as age 50—provided they had at least 20 years of relevant work experience.
Previously, the website Charter97.org reported, whether the retirement age for Belarusian women would be raised.
