A severe fire caused the ammunition to detonate.
On the night of August 7, a series of explosions rang out in the temporarily occupied Crimea in several areas, specifically in Sevastopol, Kerch, Feodosia, and near the “Gvardeyskoye” airfield. According to eyewitness reports, a major fire broke out at the military airfield, and the detonations of small-arms ammunition were also heard.
This was reported by the Telegram channel “Crimean Wind” citing its subscribers. Eyewitnesses also shared photos and videos of the aftermath of the explosions.

In addition, according to eyewitnesses, a strike was recorded in Feodosia, likely targeting a concentration of military vehicles near the former 13th military town on Kerch Highway.
Consequences of the strikes
According to local residents, several strikes also occurred at the Gvardeyskoye airfield. As a result, a fuel and lubricants warehouse caught fire, and the detonations of small-arms ammunition were heard. According to subscribers, the strikes were recorded between 3:30 a.m. and 3:39 a.m. and between 4:34 a.m. and 4:47 a.m.
Eyewitnesses claim that the fire was massive and illuminated the surrounding area for several kilometers. At the same time, it is reported that two separate fire sites were visible at the airfield. The Russian military launches “Shahed”-type drones from this airfield.


As of this writing, the occupying authorities have not commented on the situation.
