U.S. President Donald Trump explained where the funds might come from for payments of $5,000 to every American in the event of a Republican victory. He also said what the money could be spent on.

Trump called the future payments “Trump dividends.” According to him, the only condition for recipients will be to spend the money within the United States.
At first, the president did not explain how the program would be funded. According to estimates by U.S. media outlets, a payment of $5,000 to every adult citizen could cost more than $1 trillion.
In a new interview with CBS News, Trump stated that, in his opinion, congressional approval might not be required to implement the plan.
“We don’t think so. I think they’ll do it if necessary. But we don’t think so,” he said when asked whether Congress would need to approve the payments.
Trump explained that he is counting on funds from tariffs and other revenue sources. According to him, the U.S. has already received “trillions of dollars” from tariffs and other sources.
At the same time, the president did not provide a specific calculation showing exactly how tariff revenues would finance payments on such a scale. CBS noted that the legal basis for making such payments without a congressional decision remains unclear.
