The Polish foreign minister made this statement.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski acknowledged that Poland plans to be better prepared for provocations from Russia, according to Onet.
Following Russian drone attacks near the border with Poland, Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that he had convened a meeting with ministers, military commanders, and representatives of the intelligence services.
“It was a very thorough, serious meeting, because we see that Russia is escalating the situation, and the Polish state will respond decisively, which will strengthen our security,” the minister said, describing the meeting.
He added that it is still too early to discuss details, but the focus is on protecting the population and making changes to legislation.
“We are in a ‘gray zone’ of a crisis situation; we need to clarify this. We agreed that plans for various courses of action will be presented soon,” the minister said.
Radosław Sikorski was also asked whether, in his opinion, attacks like the recent ones near the Polish border would recur. “I’m afraid so, because Russia imagines that this is how it will intimidate us. And, of course, when we respond, it reinforces Russia’s conviction. But they are mistaken,” he said.
