Norwegian, American, And British Ships Put Russian Submarines To Flight

The Russian Navy continues to conduct sabotage drills targeting military and civilian facilities in Europe.

Russian submarines attempted to carry out yet another round of “exercises” in Norway, near the Svalbard archipelago. The targets of the submarines belonging to the Russian Deep-Sea Research Administration were two undersea cables belonging to SvalSat, the world’s largest polar ground-based satellite station (equipped with 150 antennas).

The Russians were unable to fully implement their underwater operation: Norwegian, American, and British ships arrived in the area, forcing the saboteurs to flee.

SvalSat undersea cables connect the archipelago to mainland Norway over a distance of 1,400 km, transmitting massive amounts of data from satellites.

The publication emphasized that, during this exercise, Russia is rehearsing a scenario in which, upon initiating a military conflict with NATO, it would immediately attempt to weaken the enemy by cutting the SvalSat satellite communication cables.
