The U.S. president was unequivocal.
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he will hold a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin when “we are ready to conclude a peace agreement.”
He made these remarks during a press briefing at the White House, according to “European Truth”.
The U.S. president was asked whether he saw the possibility of holding another summit with Putin in the near future. Trump replied that he would do so provided a peace agreement is reached between Russia and Ukraine.
“We’ll do it if I want to, but I want to do it when we’re ready to conclude a peace agreement. I want to do it—you know, we want to have good relations with Russia, Ukraine, and everyone. That would be great for business. Russia has wonderful lands, very valuable lands; a lot of good things are happening there,” said the U.S. president.
He expressed confidence that a meeting could be organized “immediately,” but he wants to do it once the war in Ukraine is over.
“I want to do this once this war is over, and I think we’ll do it,” Trump added.
