The negotiators will travel to Russia on Saturday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that representatives of the U.S. administration—U.S. President’s Special Envoy Steve Whitcott and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner—will visit Ukraine and Russia in the near future. According to the head of state, the Ukrainian side is ready to create all the necessary conditions for a safe visit by the U.S. delegation.

As Zelenskyy clarified, the negotiators’ itinerary will begin in Moscow, and then, on Sunday, they will head to Kyiv. The Ukrainian side has already begun preparations to receive the delegation—a meeting was held with the diplomatic team overseeing relations with the U.S.

The president also emphasized that during the talks, the Ukrainian side will refrain from carrying out airstrikes, and expressed hope that the Russian side will show similar restraint.

According to Zelenskyy, the key objective of the upcoming meetings is to establish the most constructive and substantive dialogue possible with American partners, as well as to find practical mechanisms that can bring an end to the war closer.

Separately, the Ukrainian leader noted that it is now important to understand exactly what proposals the American negotiators will take to Moscow and what kind of response those proposals will receive there.
