Ushakov, an aide to the Russian dictator, made a series of statements.

Yuri Ushakov , an aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin , described what the Kremlin leader discussed with Trump’s special representatives Steve Whitcroft and Jared Kushner in Moscow regarding the war in Ukraine.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing Russian media.

“The conversation lasted more than three hours—three hours and ten minutes, to be exact. It was substantive, constructive, extremely frank, and candid. The discussion on extremely serious issues took place both at the conference table and in an informal setting over lunch,” said Ushakov.

He also made a number of other statements:

Whitcoff and Kushner promised to use, in their meetings today in Kyiv, the assessments expressed by Putin regarding ways to resolve the war;

U.S. representatives have thoroughly prepared for their trip to Moscow and have formulated a number of proposals regarding the resolution;

Putin and Trump will maintain personal contact, and efforts through Whitcoff and Kushner will also continue;

At his meeting with Whitcroft and Kushner, Putin noted the alleged “successes” of Russian forces in the war and expressed confidence that its objectives would be achieved;

At a meeting with Whitcoff and Kushner, Putin emphasized the need to eliminate all the root causes of the war;

Putin’s talks with Whitcoff and Kushner were not limited to Ukraine; potential major Russian-American projects were also discussed.

Resumption of Peace Talks

As a reminder, the U.S. and Ukraine have begun an effort to resume peace talks with Russia. In this regard, on September 5, Trump’s envoys arrived in Moscow for talks, and are scheduled to arrive in Kyiv on an official visit on September 6.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also confirmed the visit a few days ago and noted that, for the duration of the diplomats’ visit, Kyiv would refrain from airstrikes on Russian territory so that the American delegation could reach Moscow safely.

Later, media reports indicated that the U.S. had called on both sides to cease mutual shelling for three days; however, Russia ultimately ignored this request and continued to attack Ukraine. The Kremlin merely stated that Putin had ordered a halt to strikes on Kyiv, though alarms in the Ukrainian capital continue to sound regularly due to the detection of drones in the area.

Furthermore, Zelenskyy reported that on the night of September 5, the Russians launched strikes against Ukrainian airports in Kyiv and Boryspil, where an American delegation was expected to arrive.
