Zelenskyy Spoke About The Negotiations With Utikoff And Kushner

Among other things, the discussion focused on support for Ukraine.

During the talks in Kyiv with with the participation of special representatives of the U.S. president and national security advisers from the “Eurotroika” countries, the discussion focused not only on possible conditions for ending the war but also on issues of short-term support for Ukraine.

According to a correspondent for “European Truth”, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this announcement following the meetings.

Zelenskyy noted that a total of three rounds of talks took place on September 6, and all of them were “very substantive.”

The president joked that the presence of Steve Whitcroft and Jared Kushner in Kyiv “worked better than the Patriot systems,” and expressed his hope that they would visit more often so that ordinary Ukrainians would have the opportunity to “live a little” without Russian shelling.

“We can joke about the ‘Patriots’ sometimes, but nevertheless, we understand that this is a very pressing issue, one that is very important to us… If the war continues into the winter—and so far that’s how it looks—we are counting heavily on the ‘winter package,’ which I discussed in detail today with Steve, Jared, and our European partners,” Zelenskyy said.

He noted that Kyiv is counting on air defense systems, energy support, and the ability to use American liquefied natural gas.

“The territorial issue remains a pressing one… This doesn’t mean we talked about it for a very long time, but we had the opportunity, and we discussed it. I stand by my view that such complex issues can only be resolved at the leadership level,” Zelenskyy said.

According to him, the discussion also covered security guarantees, economic guarantees, reconstruction, and a “prosperity plan” for Ukraine.

“We understand what our army must be like—it must be strong—and for us, that is the main guarantee of security. All of this requires resources. And you understand this perfectly well; we all understand this. Therefore, the guarantees must be strong and clear,” the president noted.

As a reminder, the U.S. President’s special envoys arrived in Kyiv by train on September 6 and met with the President of Ukraine on Sofiyskaya Square. After a tour of the cathedral, they proceeded to negotiations, which were to take place in several stages—with the participation of national security advisers from the “Eurotroika” countries as well.

Speaking to the press after the first round of talks, Kushner stated Trump’s firm intention to put an end to the war.
