Kasparov Explained How It Will All End For Russia
Garry Kasparov

Chechnya or other regions of the Russian Federation may want to secede.

The collapse of the Russian Federation is only a matter of time, and the main reason this will not be the country’s dire economic situation, but rather the Kremlin’s inability to maintain control over its territories, according to one of the leaders of the Russian opposition, world chess champion Garry Kasparov.

Chechnya or other regions of the Russian Federation may seek to secede, and this will lead to the collapse of the last “empire.” The politician shared his forecast for Russia in a YouTube interview “Free Russia Forum”.

“Collapses do not occur solely or even primarily for economic reasons. In fact, the collapse of an empire is linked to its inability to control its territories. The economy plays an important role, but in empires of this scale, the main factor is ultimately military power. Of course, the economy played a role in the collapse of the USSR, but the economy must lead to the central government’s inability to maintain the necessary level of coercive control,” Kasparov explained.

At the same time, the Russian opposition figure emphasized: “If we analyze the current situation, the trajectory of collapse will be linked to military problems. Ukraine’s actual successes to date are linked to economic problems, but here it’s simply unclear where the dividing line lies: war, the economy, or the social situation. You can always find economic problems that underlie the theory of disintegration. It’s a question of viability. After all, this is the 21st century. The economic feasibility of a state that includes Chechnya, Kaliningrad, Khabarovsk, and Kamchatka is problematic.”
