Poland Scrambled A Military Helicopter In Response To An Object Approaching From Belarus

“The readings recorded by the radar systems were not related to a violation of Polish airspace. They were caused by a large flock of birds, whose flight was detected by airspace surveillance systems,” the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command later reported.

Military officials stated that there was no threat to the country’s security. Until the investigation was completed, civilian air traffic was restricted in that section of airspace. Specifically, the Rzeszów Airport in southeastern Poland temporarily suspended operations to facilitate military aviation activities. Once the investigation was completed, flights resumed.
