Zelenskyy Announced New Steps Toward Developing The Freyja Anti-ballistic Missile Program

The President of Ukraine also spoke about the development of long-range capabilities.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that meetings will soon take place between the governments and companies involved in the development of the joint Freyja anti-ballistic missile program.

Zelenskyy wrote about this on Telegram on Monday, September 7, following a report by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Ihor Klymenko.

“We are preparing issues for consideration by the High Command,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said. He noted that Ukraine is also working on developing additional capabilities for precision strikes, and the results of this work will be among the items reviewed by the High Command.

On August 6, following a meeting on the status of tasks related to the Freyja anti-ballistic missile program, President Zelenskyy stated that he expects the necessary results to be achieved in 2026–2027.
