Missile Strike On Downtown Donetsk: Top Russian Military Officer Killed

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the occupiers' command post.

Russian obituaries provided further confirmation of casualties among Russian officers following a Ukrainian missile strike on command posts in the center of occupied Donetsk. The reports mentioned the name of Lieutenant Colonel Denis Pavlov, who was killed on August 26, 2026, in Donetsk, according to “Dialog”.

According to obituaries, Pavlov graduated from the Kazan Higher Military Tank School and the Khrulev Military Academy of Logistics. Starting on February 22, 2022, he participated in Russia’s war against Ukraine and was twice awarded the Order of Courage.

It was previously reported that as a a Ukrainian strike on a Russian Armed Forces command post in occupied Donetsk, a senior officer of the Russian 41st Army’s headquarters was killed. The appearance of Pavlov’s name in the obituaries may indicate that the strike did indeed hit the location where representatives of the Russian command were present.
