13:54 Lukashenka distracted with sanctions (Photo, video)

Celebration of the Belarusian National Republic 90th anniversary in Minsk ended with mass arrests and cruel beating of people. Hundreds of policemen and riot policemen were thrown against participants of the demonstration. More than 100 people were detained. Many persons were beaten. As detained activists said to Chater’97 press center, emergency took demonstrators with broken ribs and head injuries. 5-7 thousands of people took part in the action, held in different parts of Minsk.

Hundreds of policemen and riot policemen were ordered to confront peaceful demonstrators on Freedom Day. The regime brutally disbanded the peaceful protest, beaten up and detained more than 100 participants of the rally.

About 2.000 people symphonising the Kazulins family came to October (Kastrychnitskaya) Square this evening to light candles in memory of Iryna Kazulina, who died an early death. Iryna Kazulina was wife of political prisoner Alyaksandr Kazulin. Volha Kazulina called people to pray for her mother’s soul. The 2.000-people went to the Red Church with portraits of Iryna Kazulina and candles.

Ranks of riot policemen were “marching” on Kastrychnitskaya Square, driving away individual entrepreneurs who had gathered to the protest rally.

Belarusian entrepreneurs held a protest action in the Belarusian capital today. Heavy forces of militia equipped with truncheons and shields were rushed up to the peaceful protesters. Navumau, minister of internal affairs, was in charge the operation.

The memorial rally and meeting dedicated to Dziady – the day of commemoration the ancestors - took place today in Minsk. From 1.500 to 2.000 people participated in the actions. The column of demonstrants under the white-red-white national flags went along Nezalezhnasti Avenue and commemorated the memory of the Belarusians repressed in 1920-1930-th in Kurapaty – the place where tens of thousands of the Stalin’s terror were killed and buried. The memorial rally participants demanded to release the today’s political prisoners - Aliaksandr Kazulin, Zmiter Dashkevich, Artur Finkevich, Andrei Klimau and other prisoners of conscience. 

Belarusians came out to the European March in Minsk. The organizers estimate the number of the march participants from 7 to 10 thousands of people. We offer new photos.
