1

Brest activists, protested recently against president of Russia Vladimir Putin’s visit to Belarus, were sentenced to administrative arrest.

Court of the Lenin District of Brest sentenced Anastasiya Ilyina to 5 days of arrest and Andrei Sharenda to 7 days of arrest on 13 December.

As human right activist Raman Kislyak said to BelaPAN, the court found them guilty according to the part 1 of the article 23.34 of the Code of Administrative Offences (participation in unauthorised action).

It should be reminded an anti-Putin action was organised yesterday at the building of Consulate General of Russia in Brest. The participants shouted “Putin, go home!” and held posters “No unions with Russia!”, “No Russian military bases!”, “Daddy, daddy, Russians are creeping into house!” at 1.50 p.m. two police cars drove up to the protesters. A. Ilyina and A. Sharenda were detained, other participants of the action dispersed.
