Claiming itself Russia’s strategic partner in the west, Belarus is ready to support Moscow in the matter of the planned dislocation of USA anti-missile defence elements in Europe, the Belarusian leadership says.
“Belarus is ready to play its role as for the planned dislocation of USA anti-missile defence elements in Europe,” Belarusian president Aliaksandar Lukashenka said at the opening of the Supreme State Council of the Union state of Belarus and Russia in Minsk, news agency Novosti reports.
Russia has repeatedly expressed concern regarding USA plans to dislocate anti-missile defence elements in Poland and Czech, and offered Washington several alternatives.
Lukashenka also claimed he would act in accordance with the Russian part in the question of adaptation of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe. Russia suspended its membership in the Treaty on December 12.
