Navumau ready to tell about Minsk blast, but only in confidence

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said he would tell about the investigation of a case over a blast case in Minsk.
On January 29, minister of internal affairs Uladzimir Navumau announced media he was ready to tell some journalists about investigation in the criminal case of the blast in Minsk on July 4, 2008, if one condition would be fulfilled.
According to Navumau, he is ready to meet with “one or two” journalists and “give an account of the investigation”. “My condition is that this information mustn’t leak,” the minister said.
It should be reminded that on January 20, Leanid Farmahei, head of the militia department of the Minsk city executive committee, said the investigative group had only a social and psychological portrait of the criminal, who exploded a bomb in Minsk on July 4, 2008.

A home made bomb, stuffed with screws, exploded at the intersection of Masherau and Winners Avenues on July 4 (00.30 a.m.) during a concert dedicated to the official Independence Day. According to official data, about 500,000 people gathered for the concert. According to the Ministry of Health, 54 people sought for medical aid; 47 people, including 2 children, were taken to hospital.
