Belarusian oil refineries suffering huge losses

Income of Mozyr oil refinery plant in December 2008 amounted to I million dollars against 2 million in November and 14 million dollars in October. So, income of Mozyr oil refinery plant in December is 14 times less.
PRIME TASS agency reports it referring to a representative of the supervisory board of the joint stock company.
Profit of Mozyr oil refinery plant for January-September was $130 million. So, income for December is 14 times less than the average income for ten months 2008.
“Reduction of profits is a result of decline in world oil prices and fall in prices of oil products, as well as export policy. Under conditions of fast oil prices falling, oil products export duties remained the same during two months that has lead to washing-out of profit of oil products exporters. Decline in prices of fuel at the inner market has also affected the situation,” the source explained.
According to preliminary data, throughput of Mozyr oil refinery plant in 2008 was 10.8 mln tons. In 2007, the plant refined about 10.6 mln tons of oil.
