Political soldier Tsyanyuta sent to landing forces with scoliosis

“Young Front” activist who had been taken to the army forcefully, has been transferred from a unit in Polatsk to Vitsebsk brigade of mobile forces.

As reported by Radio Svaboda, political soldier Andrei Tsyanyuta managed to inform that it had been done by commanders for the new Defence Minister Yury Zhadobin who is to arrive to Polatsk, not to see him.

We remind that doctors found Tsyanyuta not able-bodies for military service for his and scoliosis of second degree and flat foot. However, the military enlistment office sent the young activist to a new examination, and in early September regional clinical hospital stated he had lower degree of scoliosis.

Andrei Tsyanyuta was sentenced to fines and administrative arrests for his political activities many times. In May 2009 together with other young activists he was on hunger strike of solidarity with political prisoners Mikalai Autukhovich, Yury Lyavonau and Uladzimir Asipenka.

It should be noted that since 2008 a so-called “politically motivated draft” is used for young activists in Belarus. “Young Front” activists Zmitser Khvedaruk, Ivan Shyla, Yauhen Skrabets and Andrei Tsyanyuta, “Moladz BNF” activists Zmitser Zhaleznichenka and Franak Vyachorka were drafted illegally.
