The first session of the public consultative council, created in the president’s administration, takes place in the Palace of Republic today.
The council, chaired by head of Lukashenka’s administration Uladzimir Makei, consists of Aleh Hulak, head of the Belarusian Helsinki Committee; Stanislau Bahdankevich, honorary chairman of the United Civil Party, Leanid Zaika, head of the Strategy Analytical Center; and Alyaksandr Patupa, honorary chairman of the Belarusian Union of Businessmen.
It is still unknown whether a representative of the “For Freedom” movement will attend the session of the Council. According to Viktar Karnyaenka, deputy head of the movement, the movement council hasn’t yet discussed this issue. However, there is an opinion that Karnyaenka should be present at the session instead of Alyaksandr Milinkevich.
Milinkevich confirmed this information in an interview to Euroradio. But after a single call to the head of the “For Freedom” movement from Lukashenka’s administration, there were no attempts to get in touch with Milinkevich and his colleagues, the movement didn’t receive any invatations.
