Oppositionists arrested for distributing leaflets in Chernobyl zone

In Brahin local policemen and people in mufti detained Homel activists of the United Civil Party Alyaksandr Pratsko and Natalya Schukina.

The UCP activists handed out leaflets about an action on April 25. On the eve of the anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe flowers and wreaths will be laid to the monument to resettled villages and to the monument of Chernobyl fireman Vasil Ihnatsenka who died of radiation, Radio Svaboda informs.

The detained were taken to a police department. An administrative report was drawn up against them for violation of the rules of holding mass events. As informed by the detained activist, he is charged with organizing an unsanctioned meeting. A report was not drawn against Natalya Schukina.

From the police department Alyaksandr Protska was taken to Brahin district court, now he is waiting for a court judgement.
