On April 24, a car of officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of Poland was detained at Bruzhi border-crossing point.
The diplomats were going to visit the consulate in Hrodna and the embassy in Minsk, Gazeta Wyborcza reports.
The embassy officers didn’t agree to be searched. The negotiations with the customs service took 12 hours. In spite of protest by Poles, Belarusian customs officers confiscated the diplomatic mail and the diplomats had to return to Poland.
The Polish MFA is investigating the incident, but is not going to make it available to a wide public.
