Police disbanded football fans with fire arms (Photo)

On May 9 shortly before the beginning of the game “Kommunalnik-Belshyna” a huge fight between fans took place.

Long before the game local young people were crowding together in the yards. They were ready to “defend honour” of their club. Local police had been preparing for the event as well, “Gazeta Slonimskaya” writes.

However, as said by eyewitnesses, 15 minutes before the match a group of fans of Minsk and Brest “Dinamo” and “FC Baranavichy” appeared near the entrance of the stadium.

The fans who had arrived (about 45 people) attacked Slonim fans and representatives of Vaukavysk (about 50-60 people).

It was a cruel but short fight. Local policemen stopped hooligans. During dispersing the fans one of the policeman used service gun, firing airwards 8 times.

One of the most hostile fans, a fan from Brest, was packed into the police car. Other fans from other cities where taken outside the city and set free. After a check, Slonim fans still were allowed to be present at the game, which had already started.

Though there were no winners among the fans, the Slonim team won 2:1 on the football field.
