Belarusian officials ignored meeting with Jack Trout

Belarusian enterprises that have non-distributed stocks, found it unnecessary to attend the meeting with the leading marketing expert of the world.

More than 400 directors and leading marketing experts of Belarusian companies and enterprises were participants of a master-class of a famous American marketing guru Jack Trout, who visited Minsk on September 15, Interfax informs.

“Participants of the master class were more than 400 persons, and about 50% of them are directors or owners of companies,” noted the managing partner of “Seventh centimeter” rating agency Yauhen Bury.

At the same time, as said by him, organizers of the master-class were surprised that companies of some industries were not active enough. “We know that the government and industry’s concerns recommended companies to send marketing experts to participate in the master-class, the Ministry of Economy had a positive recommendation. And where are representatives of our enterprises, who need to sell out their stocks? Just a few representatives of large Belarusian enterprises are taking part in the master-class, not more,” the interlocutor underlined.

“Managers of about 5-6 banks out of 30 banks existing in Belarus have registered for the event, travel industry has ignored the event totally, and there representatives of restaurant business could be counted on fingers, just a few representatives of home consulting companies were present. Others have ignored the event,” he said.

As said by him, “most participants of the master-class were workers of foreign companies’ representations, trade firms”. Mr Bury has also noted that there are occasions when all workers of a company were registered for participation in the master-class. “It is good when a director has a desire and possibility to educate his employees,” he believes.

Jack Trout’s master-class “Repositioning, or How to do business in the era of competition, changes and crisis” is held in the congress-hall of “Viktoria” hotel. Trout is a legendary personality in the world of marketing.

Jack Trout is one of the founders and pioneers of positioning theory, and also marketing warfare theory. He is an author of a number of business bestsellers including Positioning: The Battle for Your Mind, Marketing Warfare, The 22 Immutable Laws of Marketing and others.
