A meeting of Russian and Belarusian prime ministers could take place in a week.

It has been stated to BelTA by the Belarusian Prime Minister Syarhei Sidorski, who is in Polish Gdansk at the moment.

“On September 1 we agreed with Vladimir Putin that in the near future, in September, I think in a week, we will hold a working meeting in Moscow,” he said.

“We agreed to discuss a variety of pressing issues in economy in the development of questions discussed at the latest council of ministers of the “union state”, and instructions given by Alyaksandr Lukashenka after the meeting with the president of Russia Dmitry Medvedev,” Sidorski explained.

We remind that last week an informal meeting of Alyaksandr Lukashenka and Dmitry Medvedev took place in Sochi. The Belarusian ruler said that summing up the results of the talks an agreement was signed that Russia opens a credit line for construction of a nuclear power station in Belarus. Besides, Lukashenka has agreed for his country to become a chair of the CSTO, and to sign documents on the CRRF.

Russian media noted that talks of Lukashenka and Medvedev in fact failed. The leaders haven’t discussed a signle acute topic of the last half a year: the credit issue, recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, milk conflict. After the informal meeting, Lukashenka and Medvedev didn’t even talk to journalists.
