World Wide Web stronger kolkhoz-style dictatorship

Dear friends! The Belarusian authorities have started a psychological attack on the stronghold of free speech in Belarus, the Internet.

The dictator’s abettors try to hide their desire to control everyone and everything behind the obliquity and legalese of decree #60. We see attempts to turn pro-European Belarusians into submissive cogs in the totalitarian machine by the example of China, Burma, and North Korea. This is obviously connected with the presidential elections, which coincide with the end of the Belarusian economic “miracle”. The dictator understands the sands of time are running out for him.

They count they will manage to lock the Belarusians in a kind of internet reservation from since July 1, 2010, where people won’t be able to express their views freely, talk to their friends and run their business. Lukashenka’s plans of becoming a Big Brother break down. Repetition of 1984 is impossible in Belarus.

We must be ready to protect our right for freedom not in words but in deeds. We must be ready to take to streets to make the authorities reckon with Internet users. There are millions of us in Belarus and hundreds of millions in the world. The World Wide Web is stronger than kolkhoz-style dictatorship.

For our freedom and yours!
