A discussion was held in London on the Russian Federation's crimes in the occupied territories of Ukraine.
In the UK House of Commons, a screening of the documentary “Aktivatiki” "Prisoners: Executioners." The film details the scale and systematic nature of the terror unleashed by Russian security forces in the occupied territories of Ukraine. The screening took place on November 3. After the screening, participants discussed the issue of accountability for crimes against Ukrainian civilians and the need to designate the FSB, the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), and the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardia) as terrorist organizations.
The filmmakers trace the alleged chain of command: from Russian military personnel and detention facility staff to FSB officers who organized and oversaw the repression. A separate segment details how civilian prisoners were forced to work on the construction of military fortifications and in mine-clearing operations without training or protection. The film is based on dozens of testimonies from Ukrainians who survived Russian captivity. They speak of abductions, torture, forced labor, and extrajudicial executions. The film names specific perpetrators involved in the abuse of those abducted and in the deaths of some of them.
The event was hosted by former Conservative Party leader Ian Duncan Smith together with the founder of “Aktivatika” and co-author of the film Evgenia Chirikova.
“We will do everything we can to have Russia’s FSB designated as a terrorist organization. Why is this important? The FSB operates not only on Ukrainian territory. Let me remind you of the FSB’s monstrous crime here in London,” stated Evgenia Chirikova.
Among the guests was Alexander David Sobel, a Member of the House of Commons and Chair of the Joint Committee on Human Rights. He supported the initiative to designate Russian security agencies—responsible for acts of terror in the occupied territories of Ukraine—as terrorist organizations, and expressed his readiness to assist in this effort.
