The President of Ukraine reminded the billionaire of his remarks expressing sympathy for the “Russian occupiers.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticized American billionaire Elon Musk’s stance on the war, specifically his “sympathetic” remarks about the Russian military.
In an interview with ZDF, the president noted that, thanks to Starlink, SpaceX has provided Ukraine with vital communications. At the same time, he said, Kyiv does not like Musk’s stance on the war and his remarks about “how Russia is losing soldiers.”
“They are the aggressors. God willing, they’ll lose soldiers on foreign territory, not on their own soil. Otherwise, they could have occupied us from the very beginning,” Zelenskyy said.
He added that he doesn’t understand whether Musk is joking or being serious.
Earlier, Musk wrote on X that “the endless slaughter of Ukrainians and Russians must stop,” and called for “showing compassion for poor Russian conscripts.” He called them “children who have no choice but to go to war and die from drone strikes.”
Musk recently admitted that he himself had restricted the Ukrainian military’s access to Starlink. According to him, the Ukrainian Armed Forces allegedly used satellite communications to control attack drones, which is prohibited by the service’s terms of use, so this capability was blocked last week.
