In the run-up to the 2028 presidential election.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is trying to win the support of Republicans who have become disillusioned with Donald Trump's policies.
This was reported by Fox News Digital.
According to sources, Vance wants to create a new political coalition ahead of the 2028 presidential election.
So far, it is known that the U.S. vice president advocates for the formation of a “new right” alliance. It is expected to include Republicans who support the original principles of the MAGA (“America First”) movement.
Among their main demands are an end to intervention in foreign conflicts, lowering the cost of living, and strengthening border control.
At the same time, some of these voters are dissatisfied with what they see as Trump’s overly close ties to Israel on foreign policy issues.
Some on the right directly link a war with Iran to Israel’s influence in the Middle East and the U.S. president’s personal relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
At the same time, the source notes that Vance is not trying to distance himself from Trump or sever political ties with him.
His goal is to win over Republicans who remain supporters of the incumbent president but do not endorse his foreign policy and feel betrayed by it.
“Vance is our candidate,” said an administration spokesperson, conveying the vice president’s main message to this segment of the electorate.
