The Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus (FPB) calls upon Russian Trade Unions to assist in abolishment of export customs duties for deliveries of Russian oil products to Belarus.

“We call upon working people of the Russian Federation to support the FPB position and address our colleagues from the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia, the General Confederation of Trade Unions with the suggestion of initiating before the highest state authorities the issue of abolishment of customs duties in relation to oil products delivered to Belarus from the territory of the Russian Federation, and in exercising interstate trade without duties”, - it is said in the address of the Federation allocated at the site of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic, “Interfax” reports.

The Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus, its member organizations express confidence, that the removal of the artificially created problem will be equitable to the interest of stability preservation, securing economic and social safety of our countries”, - it is underlined in the document.

FPB pays attention to the fact that “this decision involves essential economic losses for enterprises of our country”.

“Worsening of the compatibility of their products at the world market may be a reason of sharpening of economic and social problems of enterprises, loss of jobs, and growth of unemployment in a number of spheres of the country, where tens of thousands workers are employed.

The actions of the Russian side also destroy cooperation connections between enterprises of Belarus and Russia”, - it is said in its address.

“The decision to collect by Russia duties for oil products delivered to Belarus may affect the perception of the policy and actions of the Russian Federation by the population of the Republic”, - it is noted there.
