Germany's human rights commissioner to visit Minsk

Markus Löning, the German Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Aid, is to visit Minsk on January 14—15.
The visit is caused by the events following the Belarusian presidential election and arrests of opposition activists. The human rights commissioner is expected to meet with opposition representatives, relatives of the arrested opponents of the regime, as well as with governmental officials.
