Young Front activist Nasta Palazhanka, Zmitser Dashkevich’s fiancée, said after visiting penal colony No 9 in Horki that her fiancé was being “mutilated” in jail.
Nasta said that Zmitser refused to sign any papers saying he admits his guilt. After that, he was placed in a punishment cell, Radio Svaboda reports.
“Unfortunatelly, we have no information about Zmitser: we do not receive letters, a lawyer is not allowed to see him.”
Nasta Palazhanka thinks Zmitser Dashkevich faced revenge in prison and calls on all people interested to write to the colony administration, phone and require to leave Zmitser in peace and remind them about responsibility for disregard of law.
Young Front leader Zmitser Dashkevich was charged with hooliganism and sentenced to two years in a minimum security penal colony. He and Young Front activist Eduard Lobau were accused of “ungrounded and deliberate” beating of two persons on December 18, 2010, ahead of the presidential elections. The Young Front members say the criminal case against them was fabricated by the authorities and it was they who were attacked.
