Another suit for sanctions call, this time against Uss

Another suit for sanctions call, this time against Uss

An employee of Grodno Azot joint stock company, Alyaksei Yemelyanchyk, a shop foreman, has initiated a suit against a presidential candidate Dzmitry Uss.

The suit has been initiated at Lenin court of Minsk. Yemelyanchyk asks to collect Br 2 mln from him. He wants “these people to address the EU again, so that there would be no sanctions,” and “to teach a lesson to those who urge to impose sanctions,” the state-run BT channel informs.

According to the TV piece, Dzmitry Uss is banned from going abroad, Radio Svaboda informs.

On March 19 Dzmitry Uss addressed the Council of Ministers of the European Union and the High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton. He believes that the sanctions would result in dramatic and quick political and economic reforms, changes I the human rights sphere and liberalization of the Electoral Code.

- The man, who had initiated a case, had not read my address, which is obvious from his speech on BT. He does not know, what grounds for initiating the suit were, -- the politician said. – Hiding behind the name of the Belarusian nation, Lukashenka defends oligarchs and his entourage by his throne, who finance his regime, him personally, special services and the establishment. Imposing the sanctions against oligarchs and Lukashenka’s retinue by Europe means a threat of this regime’s downfall, as special services and the establishment would be deprived of financing. Any dog obeys its master only when it is fed.

Which is more: presidential candidates Statkevich, Sannikov, other political prisoners in which Lukashenka is going to trade with Europe, are still imprisoned. Europe would not bargain until the political prisoners are imprisoned. European sanctions would press upon the sorest spots of the regime.

Amid the today’s situation it is immoral to take part in the “parliamentary election” in September, thus legalizing this regime, as the entire electoral system is controlled by the regime totally.

Dzmitry Uss, a presidential candidate, was sentenced to 5.5 years’ imprisonment for the events of December 19 and served the term in Mahilyou colony. In the end of the last year Dzmitry Uss was pardoned by Alyaksandr Lukashenka and was released.
