The Government of Moldova has decided to recall the ambassador to the Republic to Belarus, permanent plenipotentiary of the country to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS Gheorghe Hioara. This decision was made on Wednesday at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, belaruspartisan.org reports.

Hioara has been the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Belarus since October 25, 2010. In the same year, he became a representative of Moldova to the CIS statutory bodies in Minsk.

"We propose to recall the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Moldova to the Republic of Belarus, Permanent Representative of Moldova to the statutory and other bodies of the CIS Gheorghe Hioara ," – Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Daniela Morar read off the statement.

According to the CIS headquarters in Minsk, Gheorghe Hioara’s term of office in the post of ambassador expires, and, accordingly, his term of office as a permanent representative. "We are waiting for a new Ambassador of Moldova," – CIS Executive Committee representatives said.

The Embassy of Moldova in Minsk reports that they’ve learned this information from the press and cannot comment on it yet.

The decision to withdraw Hioara must be signed by President of Moldova Igor Dodon to come into force.
