More than a hundred occupiers were killed, and dozens were taken prisoner.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian troops are conducting the “Veles” special operation, during which they have eliminated more than a hundred occupiers and taken dozens prisoner.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to the head of state, the operation is being carried out by the 2nd Corps of the Ukrainian National Guard, “Charter.”
“More than a hundred Russian occupiers have already been killed, and more than thirty have been taken prisoner. We have advanced more than 15 kilometers underground,” the President of Ukraine noted.
Zelenskyy recalled that Russian occupiers had already attempted to use underground gas pipelines to advance through Ukrainian Armed Forces positions and launch assault operations.
“Ukrainian soldiers have successfully adapted this tactic, modernized it, and made it significantly more sophisticated and technologically advanced. We are saving the lives of our people, inflicting damage on the occupier, and achieving specific objectives in the Kupiansk direction,” the head of state emphasized.
