Policeman Heads Belarusian Television
IVAN EISMANT

Ivan Eismant worked in the police for eight years.

By education Ivan Eismant is not a journalist. He graduated from the Law Faculty of the Police Academy, and worked in Hrodna under specialty. He served in the police till the rank of the captain. Ivan Eismant worked in the police for eight years. He says the following about the police service: "It was a good school of life." Throughout this time, he wrote materials for the sports newspaper "Pressball" as a freelance journalist, nn.by reports.

Ivan got on TV quite by chance. In 2006, his sister Hanna, who at that time was already working for the Belarusian Television, invited Ivan to try his hand in the audition for a TV presenter. He recalled that he was wearing Dzianis Kuryan's jacket at the audition.

According to the official legend, he was asked to take a pseudonym on TV, since, they said, it was not very good when the newscaster called Eismant transmits the words of the sports news correspondent with the same name. As a result, the TV presenter became Ivan Mikhailau, which sounds like his patronymic.

Important to note, Lukashenka dismissed Pavel Yakubovich, Henadz Davydzka and Yury Kaziyatka from office today.

Ihar Lutski was appointed as general director of the STV channel instead of Yury Kaziyatka.

Ivan Eismant was appointed as Chairman of Belteleradiocompany instead of Henadz Davydzka.

Dzmitry Zhuk was appointed as Editor-in-Chief of Sovetskaya Byelorussia instead of Pavel Yakubovich.
