The activist has spoken about the conditions of detention at Akrestsina.

In July, public activist and film director Volha Nikalaichyk, who was released after 10 days of arrest for defending Kurapaty, said in her interview to Charter97.org that the so-called "moon," the night light bulb, was not working in all the cells at the Center for the Isolation of Offenders in Akrestsin street. That is, six day light bulbs were on in the cell day and night, and the light wasn’t switched off even for a minute.

This time, Volha Nikalaichyk has informed Radio Racyja that "the moon" in the cell has appeared at last:

– Previously, almost in all the cells, 6-8 daylight lamps used to look full in the face, they were not turned off day and night. At night, I had to wrap my face with a towel. During my last arrest, I changed four cells, and there was no "moon" in all of them. When you lie on the top of the bunk bed, the lamps shine such a bright light, as if you are on a surgical table. This time, there was no cold water, I had nothing to eat for one day. The Soviet prison toilet was also awashed with hot water. At the same time, they had painted the doors, walls and windows – they had made a "repair", so that the picture looked nice.

We remind that on August 24, Volha Nikalaichyk was detained when protesting near the House of Justice, where the judicial decision in the REP trade union’s case was delivered.
