‘Elections’ Appointed: November 7 - To ‘Council Of Republic’, November 17 - To “Chamber’

Lukashenka has just inked the relevant decrees.

On August 5, Aliaksandr Lukashenka signed the Decrees ## 293 and 294 on the appointment of the elections to the Council of the Republic and the Chamber of Representatives of the National Assembly. They will be held on November 7 and 17, 2019, respectively, the ruler’s press-center reports.

The decrees stipulate that the CEC, in accordance with its authority, should organize the conduct of the “elections”, and exercise control over the implementation of the electoral legislation.

The local “deputy councils”, executive and administrative bodies are supposed to nominate candidates for members of the “Council of the Republic” no later than October 8, 2019 and ensure that other organizational measures related to the preparation and conduct of the “elections”, that are within their competence, are fulfilled.

In turn, state bodies and other organizations must ensure the implementation of organizational measures within their competence for the preparation and conduct of “elections” to the “chamber of representatives”.

The Council of Ministers was instructed to ensure financing of the costs of preparing and conducting both “elections” at the expense of the republican budget, meant for other all-national issues.
